    Get PDF

Chemical concentration calculation based on spectrogram

    Get PDF
In this project, the chemical concentration identified based on spectrogram. In chemistry, concentration is defined as the abundance of a constituent divided by the total volume of a mixture. The term concentration can be applied to any kind of chemical mixture, but most frequently it refers to solutes in homogeneous solutions. Meanwhile, spectrogram is a time-varying spectral representation (forming an image of graph) that shows how the spectral density of a signal varies with time. It is an instrument used to measure properties of light over a specific portion of the electromagnetic spectrum, typically used in spectroscopic analysis to identify materials. The purpose of this project was to develop the systems that can identify the concentration of a compound by using spectrogram. Using MATLAB, the chemical concentration can calculated based on the compound of the solution. By using Acrylic acid as an example; which the simplest unsaturated carboxylic acid which has double bond and carboxyl group in C3 one molecule with the formula CH2=CHCOOH, we can determine the concentration percentages of the compound that form acrylic acid. Based on the graph that plotted by using MATLAB, the area under graph calculate. With the area, we can calculate the concentration directly based on the data from HPLC-high performance liquid chromatography

Online Advertising is said to be the current trend in advertising industry and will be able to survive and focuses on being valuable. For this project, the scope of Online Advertising is going to be discussed. To be more specific, this study will focus mainly from the user perspective. Online Advertising is the act of spreading the message of the products and services over the Internet to targeted potential customers (in this study, the user). The problem from the user perspective is that, the ads retrieved or delivered do not satisfy the user, thus affecting the user browsing behaviour. The objectives are to develop an extension of a normal website to get feedback from the user on the ads retrieved, to evaluate the ads relevancy retrieved based on the user query and browsing behaviour, to prepare a set of questionnaire and to come out with a good policy to measure user satisfaction in browsing for ads. This study will describe how the system is being developed with the support of few literature reviews and findings that had been establish previously. The research methodology approach which is the Rapid Application Prototyping also is being discussed. The four phases involved, together with the project activities are being list down in order to monitor the development of the system. The result and discussion chapter will cover the analysis of the survey that had been conducted. Plus, the study will describe the system architecture and the prototype design of the system

Conceptual Knowledge Relationship Model of Enterprise Architecture and Top Management Roles

    Get PDF
Enterprise Architecture (EA) continues to gain global recognition as a management tool that would improve the organization’s performance. The literature review reveals that the alignment of EA with that of the business strategy was not achieved due to inadequate EA knowledge at Top Management (TM) level. This study aims to gauge the level of EA knowledge required at TM level to enable the creation of EA that would enable the alignment of strategic business vision with that of EA. A semi-structured interview was conducted with several personnel in an organization. Data were analyzed using the constant comparative method. This study identified that the TM need to have understanding to two sets of EA knowledge, viz, business process management (BPM) and technology knowledge. A conceptual knowledge relationship model is proposed through synthesizing the roles of EA and TM in supporting the TM in identifying the EA knowledge required. The findings gave contribution to academicians and practitioners with knowledge of how to improve EA assimilation and a structured roadmap for understanding EA to achieve high business value

    Get PDF
Researchers have identified work-family conflict as one of the major stressors in the workplace leading to various negative outcomes, including impaired well-being. Although many studies have been conducted on the experience of work-family conflict on dual-earner couples, only a few were conducted on single parent employees. This study examines work-family conflict among single mother employees and its antecedents including dispositional (locus of control and perfectionism), job (role overload, role conflict and job flexibility) and organizational (supervisor support) factors. Data were gathered from 159 Malaysian single mother employees using self-administered questionnaires. The findings of the study indicated that 66% of the single mother employees experienced moderate to high levels of work-family conflict. The factors that characterize employees disposition including locus of control and perfectionism, their job factors including role conflict and role overload, as well as their supervisors’ support contributed significantly (51%) to work-family conflict. The findings imply the need for measures to be taken by employees, human resource managers and organizations pertaining to the antecedent factors to help reduce the level of work-family conflict

Locating shifts in the unconditional variance of time-dependent processes using multiscale wavelet periodogram

    Get PDF
In this paper, we offer a proxy volatility measure based on maximum overlap discrete wavelet transform (MODWT) called multiscale wavelet periodogram (MSWP). We show that the multiscale wavelet periodogram (MSWP) is well equipped to detect multiple changes in the unconditional variance of a time-varying volatile process. Our simulation results demonstrate that use of MSWP as an input instead of the squared variable can overcome the size distortion problem associated with the CUSUM-type test for the detection of shifts in the unconditional variance. The power of the test based on wavelet periodograms is in fact comparable to that of the test based on squared variable. Our new approach is found successful for analyzing real data
